Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Transition Plan
As part of Titlle II of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990, the City of El Mirage conducted an evaluation of its facilities and public rights-of-way, and developed a transition plan that outlines in detail how the organization will ensure safe access to all of its facilities for all individuals.
The Building Safety and Engineering Divisions collected detailed data on City facilities and sidewalk ramps to develop transition schedules specific to these facilities. In addition to the inventory of ramps and pedestrian signals and schedules, the transition plan also includes information on grievance procedures.
The ADA Transition Plan for the City facilities and Public Rights-of-Way was prepared by a City Consultant with the assistance of staff in July of 2014. In 2019, City staff updated the ADA Transition Plan to reflect changes to the Facilities Survey Summary, Right-of-Way Survey Summary, Compliant/Grievance Procedure and Form, and Request for Reasonable Accommodation Form.
