Applying to Serve on a Board or Commission The City of El Mirage City Council has formed Council sub-committees to help encourage citizen participation in the community. Several committees were formed at the December 5, 2017 Council Meeting. The Public Safety Committee was formed with Council members Shapera, Jones, and Norton volunteering to serve as Council representatives.
This committee's goal is to bring forth ideas to the police and fire departments to make our city safer. We intend to use community collaboration to assist in the planning and function of our public safety departments. Council members on this committee would like to meet once a month for discussion purposes. We will have representatives from the public safety departments at our meetings.
Volunteers must be of legal age, reside in El Mirage, and have the ability to attend monthly meetings. We are looking for five individuals to start with. Our first meeting is scheduled for February 13, 2018, at the El Mirage Police Station Blue Honor Community Room at 12401 W. Cinnabar Avenue at 6:00 PM.
