COVID-19 Community Resources

The following list includes resources available in the City of El Mirage. If there is an item that should be added or updated, please contact Autumn Grooms, grants and special programs administrator, at 623-876-2973 or agrooms@elmirageaz.gov.
Food for Kids ages 18 and younger
Dysart Unified School District – Monday through Friday, 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. El Mirage sites include: El Mirage Elementary and Dysart High schools.
Arizona Charter Academy – Monday through Friday beginning March 24, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Arizona Food Bank Network
The Salvation Army: Sun Cities West Valley Corps -- Breakfast Monday through Sunday beginning March 23, 7 to 9 a.m. at the “Drive Thru” station located at the rear of the building, includes a sack lunch. Monday through Friday 9 a.m. to noon and 1 to 4 p.m. emergency food box distribution.
St. Mary’s Food Bank
St. Vincent de Paul – Meals Monday through Friday, 9 to 11 a.m., Santa Teresita Church, Verbena and Ventura streets. Meals are carry-out bags. Contact information in weblink.
Child Care
Dysart Unified School District – Spring Camp and Growing Minds Preschool are open with preference given to essential medical, public safety and military personnel, second to current Den Club participants, and then to the general public.

Health Services Note: If you think you have been exposed to COVID 19 and develop a fever and symptoms, such as cough or difficulty breathing, call your healthcare provider for medical advice (CDC, 2020).
Childhood Immunization Clinics – The Mesa and West Valley Clinics are closed until further notice; the Central location will continue operating at regular hours: 1645 E Roosevelt St, Phoenix, AZ.
Circle the City – Mobile medical van at Santa Teresita every other Wednesday for non-emergency medical care for the homeless. The next date will be April 1.

Business
Small Business Administration (SBA) – The Small Business Administration is offering SBA disaster loans for small businesses in El Mirage. El Mirage businesses suffering substantial economic injury because of COVID-19 can apply for a loan through the Small Business Administration's website. The loans may be used to pay fixed debts, payroll, accounts payable and other bills that can’t be paid because of COVID-19’s impact. The interest rate is 3.75 percent for small businesses without credit available elsewhere; the interest rate for non-profits is 2.75 percent. SBA offers loans with long-term repayments in order to keep payments affordable, up to a maximum of 30 years. Terms are determined on a case-by-case basis, based upon each borrower’s ability to repay. Small businesses throughout the entire state that fit these criteria are eligible.
