FOG stands for fats, oil, and grease which are often left over from cooking.
When poured down the drain, FOG can clog your pipes, cause raw sewage backups, and lead to costly repair bills for the resident or the City.
The City of El Mirage provides two convenient locations where residents can recycle their used cooking oil and grease: El Mirage Fire Station and El Mirage (Northwest Valley) YMCA parking lots.
Recycled fats, oils and grease are often recycled into a biodiesel for fuel or turned into a feed for livestock. The City of El Mirage has partnered with Baker Commodities for recycling services.
